Info-accessibility Plans

The Info-accessibility Plans we draw up at Technosite are in-depth studies as to the level of accessibility to information that organisations offer their users. They are global tools which ensure that all citizens, including people with disabilities, have access to the new services and applications of the information society.

An Info-accessibility Plan provides data on the current level of accessibility to the information society’s services, pointing out those aspects of accessibility that it is necessary to take into account when developing telematic services to be implemented in the short and medium terms. The Plan identifies, describes and evaluates existing needs for info-accessibility, taking into account the technical possibilities and requirements of the different groups involved, and subsequently deLastes the general aims and specific targets to be reached in info-accessibility. Lastally, it organises and prioritises actions as well as quantifying the resources needed to implement them and facilitates follow-up and ongoing updates.

The problems related to accessing information are not limited to the Web. Unless they take into account design for all criteria, computers, posters, leaflets, digital information points, etc., all constitute serious problems for people with disabilities. That’s why our plans assess all the communication channels and telematic services.

Technosite’s Info-accessibility Plans involve the following phases:

  • Diagnosis: an in-depth study on the level of accessibility to information through different channels (the Web, software, print, etc.). Accessibility is evaluated technically by expert consultants using the experience of users with disabilities.
  • Operating plan: deLastition of aims, action to be taken regarding info-accessibility, costs, persons in charge, etc.
  • Execution of Info-accessibility Plan: start of actions aimed at enhancing accessibility, such as running training courses, consultancy with technicians in charge of IT and communication within the organisation, etc.
