Info-accessibility Observatory

The Info-accessibility Observatory enables us to monitor the degree of accessibility reached by the Web sites within a certain sector or those of a particular organisation and to carry out comparative analyses over time.

The outcome of applying the Observatory’s methodology is a published report which outlines the main barriers to accessibility to information encountered on a series of Web sites or sections of a portal.

This service is of especial interest to organisations seeking to ascertain whether the content of their Web sites is accessible to people with disabilities, older people or users navigating with older technologies. It is also very useful for checking whether their approach to incorporating the necessary improvements is leading to making their content accessible to all.

Since 2004, the year that Technosite set up the Info-accessibility Observatory for the Discapnet portal (www.discapnet.es), we have analysed the level of accessibility of Spain’s universities, the central administration of the State, the autonomous regional governments, etc. We have also developed specific observatories for the Regional Government of Andalusia and the Fundación Empresa y Sociedad (Enterprise and Society Foundation).
